Four stages, in order.

The same sequence runs on a recovery mandate and on a capital mandate. The first two stages are where the work is decided, which is why the last two move quickly.

  1. Stage 01

    Assess

We establish what is actually there before we agree what to do with it. On a recovery mandate that is the book: age, balance distribution, data quality, what is prescribed and what is already in legal process. On a capital mandate it is the balance sheet: existing facilities, security pledged, covenants in force and the cash the business can evidence.

The output is a written position you can act on, including where we think the effort is best spent.

  2. Stage 02

    Structure

Decisions are made once, in writing, before execution starts. Segments and treatments on a recovery mandate. Amount, tenor, ranking and security on a capital mandate. Service levels, reporting cycle and the point at which an account leaves our hands are agreed here rather than negotiated later.

Once this is signed, execution moves without coming back for decisions.

  3. Stage 03

    Run

Execution at volume against the agreed structure. Contact operations, arrangements and referrals on one side. Funder approach, questions and term sheet on the other. Every interaction is recorded against the account or the mandate, so the file is complete without anyone having to reconstruct it.

Anything that changes the agreed structure comes to you first.

  4. Stage 04

    Reconcile

We report against the opening position on a fixed cycle, reconciled to your ledger rather than ours. The report states what was collected or drawn, what was written off, what is under arrangement or covenant, and what is still open. Where a number moved for a reason that is not obvious, the reason is in the report.

You get the full position every cycle, in the same shape, so the months are comparable.

02 Structure Signed treatment plan or facility structure Once, before execution
03 Run Operational report against service level As agreed at mandate start
04 Reconcile Reconciliation to the client ledger As agreed at mandate start
